Philip Jenkins appeared in Supreme Court case of Guest and another v Guest

On Wednesday 19th October 2022 the Supreme Court handed down judgment in the appeal of Guest and another (Appellants) v Guest (Respondent). Philip Jenkins acted for the Respondent, led by Penelope Reed KC.
The decision in this landmark appeal, eagerly awaited by academic commentators and legal professionals, should clarify the proper approach a court ought to take when granting relief under the doctrine of proprietary estoppel.
Philip Jenkins (instructed by Clarke Willmott LLP) appeared successfully as sole counsel on behalf of Andrew Guest at first instance (Guest and another v Guest  EWHC 869 (Ch)) and in the Court of Appeal (Guest and another v Guest  EWCA Civ 387).
