Philip Jenkins to appear in Supreme Court case of Guest and another v Guest
1st Dec 2021
On Thursday, 2 December 2021, the Supreme Court will hear the appeal in Guest and another (Appellants) v Guest (Respondent): see listing. Philip Jenkins will be acting for Respondent.
The landmark appeal, eagerly awaited by many academic commentators, questions the proper approach a court ought to take when granting relief under the doctrine of proprietary estoppel.
Philip Jenkins (instructed by Clarke Willmott LLLP) appeared successfully as sole counsel on behalf of Andrew Guest at first instance (Guest and another v Guest [2019] EWHC 869 (Ch)) and in the Court of Appeal (Guest and another v Guest [2020] EWCA Civ 387). He will be led in the Supreme Court by Penelope Reed QC.
Chambers wishes him success.
