Dr Frances Burton is an Arbitrator, Mediator and Specialist in Family Property as well as Dispute Resolution. A former Judge of the Upper Tribunal, Administrative Appeals Chamber.
Currently a Senior Lecturer in Law at Buckingham University teaching Family Property and Trusts modules, recently establishing a Dispute Resolution Centre.
A member of the Society of Authors, the Society of Legal Scholars, the Academics Committee of the Civil Mediation Council and a Director of the Board of the Institution of Family Law Arbitrators (Chairman: Lord Falconer of Thoroton) she has published extensively on Family Law Reform, including on Cohabitants’ Rights.
Also Co-Director, International Centre for Family Law, Policy and Practice (Patron: Baroness Hale of Richmond) and Editor of its journal International Family Law, Policy and Practice, ISSN 2055-4802.
