Boris Young

Boris joined Chambers in October 2026 after completing pupillage. He works across all of Chambers’ core specialisms. For example, his work so far has included:

• Advising on the validity of a s.21 possession notice and appearing in s.8 possession proceedings.
• Drafting tax-efficient deeds of appointment.
• Appearing in the winding-up court.
• Acting as junior counsel (led by Jeremy Callman) for the Claimant in a £2 million GP partnership claim.
• Acting pro bono in a dispute over the interpretation of a will. After receiving Part 8 proceedings (drafted by Boris), the other side settled in full.

During pupillage, he was supervised by James MacDougald, Jeremy Callman, Richard Dew, and Georgia Bedworth, and gained experience in areas including:

• Inheritance tax advice.
• Applications under the Variation of Trusts Act 1958.
• Partnership disputes including issues around limitation and delay.
• Court of Protection matters such as gifting applications.
• 1975 Act claims.

Before starting pupillage, Boris worked as a solicitor’s agent. He represented banks and landlords seeking possession in the County Court. He therefore has significant experience in possession matters and hearings.
