It is becoming increasingly common for fraudsters and internet criminals to "hijack" bona fide lawyers' names in an attempt to defraud innocent people.

By stealing these names and identities the criminal attempts to give their scam some credibility. Like many of London's other leading law firms we have not been immune to this illicit activity.

We have had a number of enquiries from individuals who have received emails purporting to be from barristers here at Ten Old Square. Most of these scams involve an email informing the recipient that they are likely to inherit a very large sum of money if they cooperate in a financial transaction.
