Ten Old Square is a premium set of Chancery barristers’ chambers undertaking advocacy, advisory and drafting work in all of the legal disciplines commonly associated with Chancery Law, as well as niche areas of law not typically covered by the more mainstream, commercial sets of chambers.
We have been based in Lincoln’s Inn, one of the four Inns of Court, since 1996 following an amalgamation of 3 leading sets of Chancery chambers whose origins could all be traced back for may decades prior to the merger.
The specialist legal space is exciting and constantly evolving and there is continued, rapid change to how legal serices can be delivered. Ten Old Square combines the steadfast, traditional values associated with any premier set of barristers’ chambers married to state-of-the-art, secure technologies to enable our legal services to be delivered beyond the expectations of our professional and lay clients.
Our head of chambers is Simon Taube KC. There are currently 26 specialist, independent Chancery barristers practicing at Ten Old Square.
Our instructions usually come from UK solicitors and foreign lawyers as well as UK professionals who hold a Bar Standards Board license to instruct barristers. Please take a look at our practice areas by clicking on the tab above to get an idea of the work we undertake. We do not undertake Public Access work.
We have a highly experienced practice management team led by our Senior Clerk, Keith Plowman, who has been a barristers’ clerk since 1982; Keith has been our Senior Clerk since 1992. He is supported by the equally qualified Marc Schofield, the former Senior Clerk at 8 Stone Buildings along with Fay Bennett.
